Water Leak in Boot

I have Water leaking into bootwell where tool kit is and some carpet under the rear seats getting wet. Has anyone had this problem and is the source of leak normally the seal around the boot or rear lights? Has anyone fixed themselves finding source of leak with putting sealant on interior/exterior or best to go to a garage?

It's the rear light seals usually, left and right are the same part for all years, 81554-74010 not sure on price but around £10-20 each from a main dealer
