Heater/aircon controls

Just getting used to my new Touring Sports. Its all dandy so far but I'm a bit puzzled by the heating/ac controls and the handbook doesn't help. The left dial is marked Dual and the right one is Auto. Could someone please explain what these do? Thanks in advance.

Dual and auto are just the buttons on top of the dials. Auto, turns on AC in auto mode and Dual enables/disables Dual zone AC, so left and right passengers can set different temperatures. The rotation of the dials itself changes temperature on the left/right side.

Dual means the driver & passenger can set there individual temperatures.

Auto means the climate control system adjusts the fan speed & vent positions.

A lot of people like to control the climate settings themselves, I just set the temperature & leave it on auto.

Thanks both. All clear now. I hadn't clocked that the buttons and the dials are unrelated.
