Engine sump drain plug.

1.33 litre petrol. I usually tighten the engine oil drain plug by "feel" bearing in mind it's an aluminium sump and very easy to go all gorilla when tightening!

I have tried a search, nothing came up, but what is the correct tightening torque when using a new (Toyota) sealing washer?

Hi,

I usually do 35Nm as this is what I remember from previous research. However the washers I use currently seems to be a fake ones not real Toyota  although they look very similar and they are ultra soft and crush at 25Nm easily. 25Nm very otoh seems too light to me and I do another 5 so total 30Nm. Just done it two days ago.
Oil filter - 25Nm, basically when it’s stop spinning with the tool

Sump plug washer - 30-35Nm

Gearbox oil drain and refill plugs - 40Nm

👍
