Apparently it will have a new digital cluster, I assume it will be similar to the upcoming corolla cross

There are also rumours of it having blind spot monitoring 🥳

That's something i really miss because my previous car had it. I have no idea why they didn't add it.

But it's to late for me to buy a UK assembled vehicle.

A word of caution as mentioned in the link exact UK specs will be revealed later so do not take this as verbatim for UK cars or any other market to be honest

And comes with the new hybrid generation 5 which changes the set up for both 1.8 and 2.0 engines. Higher bhp, lower or same emissions plus added power to a completely new li-ion batteries. New power control units too. Seriously, can’t wait to see these new 2023 Corolla’s 🚗👌🏁

Depends if Toyota can be bothered to design one - the C-HR was never originally meant to be a Toyota badged product.

So whose product it was meant to be? Lexus?

Scion - it was Toyota's youth focused brand.

Anyway we are going of topic so back to 23 MY Corolla talk / info.

Nice design tweaks in the new 2023 Corolla. Especially liking the revised front lighting look and of course the vastly improved infotainment system including new main screen and customisable combimetre. If Toyota has improved the system software including navigation that would be great. If Android Auto / Apple Carplay are built in, then that would be a real winner. (I had a 22-plate CH-R last week as the courtesy car while my Corolla was in to the dealer for its year 2 service. That had Toyota's latest software including navigation. Wow, serious improvements compared to what's in the current Corolla.)

One more thing of note - blind spot monitoring at last!

The juiced-up power output is welcome, too, although I've been quite happy with what my 1.8 can do.

My current 2020 Excel HB reaches the keep-or-move-on point in June 2023. It's been a terrific car and I'm inclined to keep it for a few more years after that. But the improvements Toyota has announced for next year look awfully compelling to me.

They've just ruined the beautiful face and rear bumper of the Touring Sports!

😢

Hopefully you can upgrade later the info system of the previous generations with the 2023, the larger screen and system looks way nicer!

With the Li-battery, I think the 2-litre version might be like the 1.8 litre version with the Battery under the bonnet and more space in the boot.

To be sure, right to emphasise that. Love the wording in Toyota Europe's press release:

Quote

All data is tentative and subject for homologation

I had to look up 'homologation' https://www.motorbiscuit.com/homologation-car/

And

Quote

Grade structure may differ in each market. Please refer to the local national Toyota distributor for more detailed information

All noted!

I rather like it. But beauty is always in the eye of the beholder 😉

That's always the case indeed!

I just don't get the chrome bits complicating a front design that was already clean, and then translate that language to the rear almost falling for the hideous trend of fake exhaust pipes, like in the hatchback. That's one of the things we love about the 2.0 TS: real exhaust pipes in the XXI century!
