Hi Guys,

I have a 2012 toyota aygo which has done approx 90000 miles. In the service book it says that the timing belt should be changed after 10 years or 150000 miles, firstly, because of the cost, how important is it to do?,I only do less than 5000 miles a year.Secondly i have seen a chap on the internet say it has a chain not a belt,do you know which it has?.Thanks for any help,

Peter

On petrol 1.0 is chain, 1.2 is wet belt.

Not sure on diesel...

The Aygo diesel (Stellantis engine) used a belt.

Hi Guys,

Mine is a petrol model so i guess that makes it a chain,in which case i am less inclined to change it.Thanks for the help,

Peter
