Hi all!

Recently got really tired of my phone holder as an esthetic and was looking into upgrading my Avensis with Android Auto feature.

However, I am lost and don't even know where to start from.

Can someone of you, great lads, point me in the right direction? Maybe some media heads that will fit perfectly to begin with?

If you going for one of those android head units make sure get the one with dab+ I've seen on here they talk about a pioneer one is the best but there expensive as tbh I would gee one myself but the price I just can't justify spending it on my car .my headunit the touch 2 headunit sucks as the touchscreen touch is weard as other things come up when .I chose a thing. It's not good the touchscreen

Thanks for the info. Do you have a link to the product? I really struggle  to find anything for the 2017 avensis.

If you don't mind me asking, what is dab+?

Your location is other/non-UK, so it would be better if somebody who knows the in-car audio market, local to you. It will be cheaper. Best to find a local in car audio specialist.
Try Google search for - Toyota Avensis 2017 audio interface cables, Toyota Avensis 2017 facia plates and fittings.

You are looking for ISO to Toyota cable harness, steering control interface. Search for those too.

I have a basic audio system with a better bluetooth interface adapter for my 2009 Avensis. I put up with the phone in the cradle, because it is cheaper than splashing out on new system. Plus there are some Toyota specific features that the original unit can control, that a non -Toyota unit cannot access, like adjust the auto light sensitivity. The main thing is you are thinking safely.
