I'm at my wit's end, can't find out what the exclamation mark light means keeps coming on and off at varied times plus started with Battery issues, kept having to jump start as the Battery wasn't holding charge . mechanic put new Battery on for me as he said the one that was on wasn't the right size but too small . Since then it starts first time but just looses power n all lights come on , for no apparent reason or rhyme. After putting it in reverse n then drive again it starts again for a little while. It's inconsistently stopping n starting . Had a hairy drive home from the diagnostic centre yesterday too , stopping in some really silly places. The diagnostic specialist said his machine wasn't communicating with it. But before the battery was changed the mechanics machine worked and got these codes battery control system p3000. Inverter cooling system p3130. P3077 see service manual. But after battery changed his won't communicate either and it's started to lose power under the pedal at random times. Does anyone have clue a) what might be wrong n b) where to get it fixed . I live in Highlands of Scotland n am a carer for lady with dementia n bought the car hoping to finally go on holiday this summer. Just don't know where to go to get help all garages including Toyota garage at Inverness say they don't have the software to communicate as it's so old.. yet it did communicate before battery change , what size of battery is supposed to be on in the first place? The one that was on was a wee 330a sized for a quad n the terminals didn't even fit snugly. Has the mechanic that changed the battery tripped something out or needs resetting or is the new battery too powerful? Please help.

The oem Battery is not undersized it needs the correct type of Battery too, what Battery has your "mechanic" fitted

hybrids are not like normal cars they have sensors on the battery and power is monitored, they don't need a big battery, they do not like being repeatedly jump started either

please PM me your Frame number, what should start - AHR10

the battery should be an S55D23L or a 005L - you may have blown or cracked one of the fusible links

Check the coolant level for the HV Inverter, this is in the centre towards the back of the engine

P3000 and P3077 point towards the Main Battery pack blower motor these tend to get clogged up with fluff or the inlet/outlet is blocked/obstructed

Thanks I'll check them.

The Battery which was taken off was a varta A15 the terminals weren't the right size to connect properly and the prior owner had copper wrapped around to make it fit . I'm presuming this may have been a contributing factor to it not holding a charge ,but I know very little about cars let alone hybrid, maybe I wasn't turning everything off properly , but after it being stood for 4days there was no power to start it . The prior owner assured me it was a new Battery n should last a couple years. The Battery local mechanic fitted was a 005LN it fits in the terminals and on the allocated plate.

Since then had no problems starting only the problem with no power under the pedal at random times. Which scared the living **** out of me on a motorway on Tues.

The warning exclamation light came on in March when I was on my way home to Scotland after buying it in Durham, going downhill. It doesn't stay on the whole time. Also vsc and white round one that looks like handbrake light.  I rang the previous owner he said it never happened with him. I believe they are something to do with abs and braking system. Previous owner said he'd just had brakes done for MOT so may be a loose wire?

Also, if the correct Battery is now on , how do I fix the fuse/no power issue? Could having a Battery that's too small, coupled with me using power pack to jump start it several times have f#!ked it up. Please tell me it can be fixed🙄🤞

Previous owner said he'd not had any problems with it but he hadn't used it since putting it through MOT as he bought a bigger camper.

It has had seats taken out n been converted into a futon bed . I don't have anything under the bed but I will investigate , take the whole back out n look . I'd probably like to put seats back if I find any.

It had part of the futon about an inch above it.

Can't find hr fluid level , is it the dipstick on opposite side to oil dip? If so, its one notch from bottom. If not I am clueless.

hv cooling - top up from the rad cap just in front of the silver cover (silver cap, yellow label) - not sure on coolant type - you can't go by colour either

Thanks , think I found the floor not sure about high, but saw a vent near back door left and one near 12v Battery. Where do I get coolant from and more importantly where do I put it? Think I found the coolant dip, it's a rosy coloured fluid n is down to last notch. Thanks for all your help.

I was looking for a dip 🤣 apparently that's transmission fluid so looks like I may need some more soon .There's two caps like that on either side of rad. So I can check coolant here? Does it need mixing with water or only coolant? Sorry must be like leading the blind.

The rad is split in half drivers side is for the engine passenger side is for the HV system

come to think of it the HV system should have its own tank not sure where it is located on the AHR10 if it does

the clear tank with the black lid (passenger side) is for the power steering it looks very black and could do with a flush

As for the gearbox, ideally you want to drop the fluid and do the filter especially if the fluid is dark, they're a bit of a mare to refill tho

Thankyou 🥰 the dipstick fluid is a reddish colour thankfully not too dark will power steering fluid go in gearbox too? as I have some from kicking about somewhere or do I need special transmission fluid?

Will this suffice for gear box or am I needing sumat else. My problem is living in the middle of nowhere it's 50 miles to nearest Halfords or anywhere that might have specific stuff.

If you look on your dip stick i think you will find it states Toyota CVT TC, Comma equivalent is AQCVT plus - this is a synthetic oil, not mineral the 2 don't play well with each other

That's an Alphard 4x4 drawing, but it uses the same technology

it was more for...................

Quote

• The front transaxle P210 is built using CVT K110 components. Unlike other Toyota CVTs, there is no torque converter, unlike other hybrids - there is only one motor-generator.
The 1EM electric motor is quite a weak - 13 kW and 110 nm (for comparison, the Prius NHW20 drive motor - 50 kW and 400 nm).
P210 is the only Toyota hybrid transmission that needs to be filled with CVT fluid TC.
