Locked front air vents

The front central air vents in my new Corolla Hybrid are locked in the open position.  Can't move the control knobs,  no matter what combination of settings used on the aircon.  Anyone had this problem ?  Any ideas?

When you say the control knobs do you mean the knurled wheel that controls the air flow they are stiff to operate from the open or closed position you have to operate them with a good push with your thumb.

Problem solved,  yes they were just very stiff to start moving. Thanks Rosgoe.
