Announcement in Japanese while driving

Recommended Posts

I have recently bought a Estima G Series Hybrid. It's a 2011 model and I drove it over the weekend from London to Bradford. I had no problems on the drive, the cruise control made a tremendous difference during the journey.

All was well till I was about to reach home. The car then made an announcement in Japanese. No warning lights came on so I am puzzled by why an announcement was made. I checked again this morning, there are no warning signs and the fluid levels are correct (Battery and Hybrid cooling liquid included).

Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone have any suggestions for me to check anything in the car. Any help is appreciated.

It seems you have media unit originally fitted in Japan which is in Japanese language,

download google translated in your smart phone and go to car media unit settings, there should a settings where you can stop these announcements, or youtube is your best teacher.

Were you driving past midnight?

The original head unit will announce the current day and other ‘useful’ facts.
