My 1996,landcruser struggling to tow

Hi there I'm a new member,  is my landcruser just to old 1996, to tow iv had her for twenty years and love her to bits . ,it a toyota landcruser prada, but just don't have the power to tow, she go's well if not towing, if someone could give some advice I would really appreciate it thanks...

Hi I've got the same a 1996 Prado, when I'm towing my caravan I cant tell I'm towing anything on the back pull like a dream, I start off in 1 then 2 then put into drive have you tried doing that or do you just pull off in drive ?

Hi, anymore information, using more diesel, any noises, any vibrations, smoke, service history, could be loads of issues, what's it like under hard acceleration?? Is the engine struggling, or transmission slipping??
