Advice -- Perfect Condition 98 Landcruiser

I'm looking for some advice.

I have a 1998  Landcruiser (50K miles) in very good condition. We love the car and have owned it for a long time.

Here is the problem with it. It's a 4 cylinder 2WD with an automatic transmission. It is sooooooo slow.  I see people do v8 swaps to these cars. I'm wondering if I can install a stock  Toyota V6 into it. Will I have to swap the transmission too? Am I wasting my time? Should I just sell it and buy something with more power? I don't enjoy driving the car anymore as it's so slow.

What is the best source to research this?

I bought a wrecked Chevy 1500 pick up and put the drive train into 88 S-10 pickup that also had a 4 cylinder. It took a day and was easy as once I put a small body lift on it.
