I'm trading in the wifes 3year old aygo for a prime aygo X auto. Can parking sensors be fitted to it?

There is no "Prime" trim level in the UK, UK models are:

Pure, no parking sensors

Edge, can be added as part of "City pack" for £295

Exclusive & Limited Edition come as standard

Sensors are a factory fit item only and there is no accessory option from Toyota.

You can get generic aftermarket sensors fitted, which is something dealers had offered for some of the lower Yaris trims (Albeit without disclosing that they were aftermarket!), but you're better off picking a spec/trim that has them built in IMHO.

We had them fitted by the dealer when we bought our Aygo Xclusiv new. They were ok, but not as good as the ones we have as factory fits.

Aftermarket ones are fine as long as they are fitted properly.  I had Toyota fit front and rear ones to my previous Rav4.  They never failed me and were totally reliable.

But, as already mentioned, the factory fit ones with the display on the drivers panel is best.

@Llynyfanthe OP's question is about the new AYGO X, not any of the old models that just happened to have an x somewhere in the model designation.

@Devon Aygohas already given the definitive answer in the second post of this topic.

@martswain merely giving an insight into non factory fitted sensors fitted to one of our Toyotas previously. The mere fact there was an X in the model is Toyotas doing, not mine. If you read my comment after Cyker's, it may make more sense.

Just saying.

I've found the reverse camera is as good as reversing sensors. I used to have sensors in my 2017 Aygo but decided not to have them when the reverse camera came in my 2020 Aygo
