To answer the OP's question: 95% of the time I leave it in 'Standard'. Sometimes in 'Sport' when I'm bored.

Normal mode for me.  I do occasionally try sport mode and it does provide a dramatic increase in performance but I am quite content to leave it in normal mode and driven gently the MPG is good and the performance is adequate when needed.  For me eco mode is so dull, frustrating and unsatisfactory the only thing that happens is that it raises my blood pressure!
