Going thru a car wash with my camry hybrid XSE in N this message came on for the 1st time in many car washes. ...Traction battery needs to be protected ...Refrain from the use of neutral position.

Now I've read here on this feed that its when your Battery has less than 50% charge...mine had a full charge.

Confused what to do if this happens again in the middle when there's literally nothing I can do.

Hi, this has happened to other members too. Best way is to avoid automatic car washes, they can also do a damage to your car exterior, paint work, or accessories. You can’t really do anything to stop this warning. No need to panic , in an event of very low traction Battery the car will likely switch off itself.

Why not put car into park mode and leave electrics on in the automatic car wash?.

Non automatic cars use nutral & handbrake.

I never take my Rav 4 through a car wash it will damage the paintwork.
