I do love Kei vehicles - I often wish the government would introduce similar legislation so Japan would start selling them here!

They are exactly the sort of thing we need more of in crowded cities like London, not these gigantic SUVs and 4x4s!

Drove a Bedford Rascal a few times (rebadged Suzuki Carry). Really practical for the size.

Quite fancied a Suzuki SC100

or a Daihatsu Copen

both of which were sold in the UK.

Aye, the little rascal, I remember those,a builder I worked for had one and I drove it a bit.

A bit of a job fitting my 6ft frame into the drivers seat, no adjustment as I remember, but as you say a practical pick up or van for small loads.

The Daihatsu Copen when I first saw one, I got talking to the lady driver as I didn't know what it was, she said IIRC that it was a 660cc turbo engine, and was very happy with it.

I really like the Japanese miniature engineering idea as just enough, but no more than necessary.
