Toyota Yaris D4D MMT clutch?

Hi my Toyota Yaris is diesel- d4d automatic 2006. I’ve never had any repairs or issues just a regular service and mot. since Saturday there has been three occasions when the car just doesn’t move and only revs. I then turn engine off and leave it a few minutes then It starts again and drives fine. im not savvy on cars but love my little Yaris (had a 2008 petrol one mbefore this one) it’s booked in for a new clutch tomorrow at 650 pounds. another garage said it was the clutch achuenter?? it’s done 112k miles. just hope this is what it needs and nothing else. any advice/info would be appreciated. thank you Julie
