The C5, looked good on the drawing board and I have to confess that it was a sleek and futuristic vehicle.  It’s problems were not just the hoover motor and the unusual steering set up but the dimensions were completely out of proportion for a modern roadworthy mode of transport.  I genuinely felt unsafe on the road as it was so small with a very low centre of gravity and it would only be suitable for a cycle path rather than an urban road or dual carriageway.  Sir Clive was a real visionary but sometimes he was just a little bit too much ahead of his time.

I remember a local shop selling them for half price £199 back in the day, agree I was still not tempted I stuck with my trusty push bike. Another factor was we live on a hill above the main town, so it would been a very scary ride down and a nackering journey back!
