car dies after starting up

Hi

my car wouldnt start the other day, had the aa out he said i need a new Battery, the chap has been fitted the new Battery, the car now starts but then dies, the engine light is also still on. Anyone know what it could be? It's an estima.

The most common cause of an engine dying after starting up is fuel starvation. That would be my first check.

Donna, I agree with Bernard but can you just clarify the problem before the AA came out. 

Was the Battery flat, no lights? 

Or it turned over but would not fire? 

Did the AA actually get the engine running? 

If they got it running, how long had it run before you found it starting but dying?
