Hello ALL,

I have owned my 1991 Toyota Hiace from new. It was my father's First and only new van back that he got for his business. He was a butcher so the back was insulated and as a result, the inside bodywork is like new. last year I managed to find someone to repair the wheel arches. This van has only 89,k Miles from new my father's shop and was less than a mile from our family home. I would be interested in selling my van but I don't want to put it on done deal as I will get every man and his dog calling and offering me €1000 for it.

May I ask what you would recommend?

Hi David,

You don't say how much you are looking to sell the the van for. I would suggest that you look on various online sites for how much similar models with approx mileage and condition are selling for.

When selling any vehicle you have to detach sentiment that you may have for it. The buyer will only be interested in the condition and price they pay. Hopes this helps👍

Hi Bob

Thanks for the advice. I am sorry to say it is very sentimental, silly I know. However, as you can tell, I am getting over it. only took 30 years🤪. It is a hard one to try and price as most have just rusted away. I will do a bit of homework and amend my post👍.

It depends on how desperate you are to get rid of it. If you are in no rush, then set the price at whatever you are comfortable with, and wait. The number of buyers that are genuinely interested and appreciate the car is probably quite small, but given time the right buyer will come along. Post it on places where enthusiasts are, like pistonheads, car&classic, and maybe some specialist forums and FB groups. Best of luck.

I see what you mean. That looks very nice!

Considering how hot the camper van market is, there is a huge demand for solid vans that can be converted to campers and they go for good prices. Like I said, as long as you are in no rush, I'm sure you can get a good deal there. On the other hand, I can also understand why you'd want to keep it. Vans in that condition don't come around often.
