Interesting phone call from dealer

Today i received an interesting phone call from my dealer. It goes like this…

”hello , i know you only bought your car from us in may 2022 but its second hand value has exceeded what you have outstanding on finance with us… do you want to come in and talk to us about trade in ?

i politely refused stating that as soon as the mk5 was available in the uk (yes i know, not yet) i would consider it.

Paul, snap.  In our case it was a Corolla Cross.  Being available we decided to pop in anyway and came out (9 months later* :)) with a Yaris Cross.  The offer was too goo to miss.

Why don't you find out?  In our case our payments remained unchanged.

 

*Well February to September but it seemed like 9 months

Cyker. Tbh there is no current offering to tempt me away from the 22 prius. 
even the corolla TS has been shrunk in offering. I particularly liked the Tech Icon version but that seems unavailable.

Same; New Mk4's have less stuff than my one so no compelling reason to change to a new one. I told them if they put the HUD back, added more colour options, 360 degree camera and heated seats and steering wheel, then we can talk

Nailed it. 

Our new YC offered the heated steering wheel extra but also other important, to us, differences: better boot, better access, smaller footprint, better Satnav, better steering wheel controls. The compromise: smaller engine, slightly increased fuel consumption (higher drag), no rear seat light.

And of course a newer car so no worries about tyre replacement.

I got asked in the showroom within a month of collecting the car if I wanted to sell it back & had a phone call about 6 months later asking if I wanted to pop in to discuss my options about an upgrade.

I said I wasn't interested both times.

Why I never get a phone calls from a dealer, have I blocked them or something 😂😂😂. They can’t even value my car anymore, I tried their site and says it’s very special one and to give them a call, but since I am also not interested I will missed that this time😅
