has anyone found out some more info regarding these decks? im still looking for a PAL to NTSC converter here in Australia too. no such luck. the people said they will actually need the unit before they could try their converter. i just dont trust them with it. i dont want it to come back not working.

:P I think all models of toyota OEM head units are made by Fujitsu Ten. I have dismantled mine and its definitely by Fujitsu 10 - hope this helps

yes mine has a toyota sticker and a fujitsu sticker with part numbers for both

i have also found out that the GPS requires the discs in a format called 'naviken'. its mainly japenese but i have found companies that supply US/Canada maps. i need one myself for Australia, and a lot of you are from Europe and the UK. try searching for 'naviken' or ask some GPS map CD suppliers for them.

Got this info from a dealer:

It seems that Fujitsu Ten is also the OEM product for Lexus cars.

I think you guys have this Model:

CD/MD AV & Navigation System "E7707 AVN"

Other models are:

CD/Cassette AV & Navigation System "E5507 AVN"

Car Navigation System "E5507 NAV"

CD Changer "E7707 NAC" (Car Navigation System-compatible)

I have the earlier model the E5507 AVN, but when i press the nav button it says something like the module not connected. Any ideas?

Lexus are Toyota :)

the ones in soarers and SC400s are slightly different. because they are very common in australia, there are many kits available to convert them to PAL. im thinking that is the loom/harness is the same on all Toyota models, then this may work for mine.

ill have to enquire more about it

Have any of you guys got an English CD-Rom for the Sat Nav incorporated in the Toyota Orginal Car Audio Unit 36004/KNT-5180 or, does anybody know where I can get one? :help::crybaby:

i think it can tho

the format used is called 'naviken' i havent found a disc with that format as yet - because i havent been looking much - but im told they are all compatible with each other. im told its a defacto standard that some - or many - manufacturers have adopted

anyway, id like to get mine working. ill look for a disc in the new year and try some of them out. there is a navigation place not far from my house.

that is if i decide to not sell my unit. someone offered me more than i paid for it the other day :)

Hi,

I'm expecting a Prado TZ 2001 from Japan next month. Problem is the system in it is in NTSC and in my country we use PAL. Is there a way to convert the TV system to PAL. Usually how many inputs (audio/video) come with the system. I'm still not sure of the model but got some pictures, could someone help me out with details of the system.

I would also like to know if I could fix a CD changer to it.

Thanks

p.s I tried to attach the pic but it's not allowed, so I can mail it if anyone who can help

:help: Hi Macgregor.

I recently bought an imported MR-S 2000 on a W plate with a multimedia system very similar to yours (NKCT -W59). I did see that you managed to set it up and running.

Could you give me some pointers or contacts where i may be able to covert it to uk bandwith for the radio and TV and get it re-set to english instead of constantly having it in japanese?

I also did ear that it would be possible to incorporate a dvd player into it

Thanks

Hi,

I have a 2000 Toyota Hilux Surf fitted with a similar model of TV/SAT/NAV unit as the one shown for the Prado.  Picture attached.

I'm trying to figure who manufactured the unit, there's a good chance that whoever manufactured the unit will be selling units in the UK based on the same software, even if the Unit itself looks different.  If I can figure out who makes these units for Toyota then I can source some disks to try.

Currently my best guess is Panasonic, but I'm not sure.  Does anyone know?  As for the TV, I'm also interested in the NTSC-PAL converter.

I can't believe there's no way round this, there's got to be...

TMS-003 A television tuner-standards converter

The TMS-003 is a device that is unique in Russia and abroad. The device was developed by our company's R & D specialists on the basis of modern, premium quality imported electronic components at a fair price.

TMS-003 - is a tuner-converter for Japanese and US-made car television sets which converts television signals received in the Russian standard SECAM D/K into the standards of the Japanese and American television NTSC3.58 (60 Hz). It is also possible to receive signals of the PAL or SECAM systems at the output. The advantage of such an option versus buying another television is the car interior remains attractively clean and intact. The converter is easily installed without the use of any additional wiring and supports and is easy to use. The a installation of the device does not require intrusion into the television's transistor circuits. The TMS-003 carries a full two year warranty, responsive and considerate customer service, and considering the equipment's complexity, is very affordably priced.

Now we are produce new generation convertors NORITSU DENKY.

NORITSU DENKY TN-2000 and TN-2001 models completely replacement original toyotas tuners.

Possible to make tuners for australia or another region.

about new models russian only, sorry.

Nazimsherazi, Hello!

In the standart Toyota unit langueges can't be changed, but, it can be done after remodellang of this unit. I can help you at some trouble.

1. I can send for you with installation instruction coverter for watch TV and connect DVD to your system.

2. If you have Japanees CAR NAVI disk and also have the Garmin, or any over GPS map of your region, I can covert it to Japanees format. For it you must send for me Japan CAR NAVI disk and any GPS map of your region, also I can self find needed for you map, but it be some add to price $-)

3. I can translate your system from Japanees ieroglif to English letter, but for do this you must dismount you head unit and post it to me. But in first, please, make photo of your head unit and Navi systems, it can be under driver or passendger sitting place.

Regards!

Hi there, I have just bought a Mazda Capella with one of these CD/tape/TV/navi systems in it. It doesn't seem to have a model number on it but sounds like the same as described here.

I would love to convert the NTSC to PAL. Second, I have heard you can play DVDs on them. Any suggestions.

But firstly, can anyone tell me how to change the time on the clock?

I have tried every combination of button pushing with no luck. Can anyone help?
