AE86 Universal Joints

A question to the forum, I've recently got hold of what I believe is an early-ish AE86 prop. One of the UJs is a bit suspect and really needs replacing......however they look suspiciously like they're not made to be replaceable....surely not. See attachment.

Your help would be appreciated.

it's staked in place, No drive shaft shop will touch it, but they will make a new one to that spec

is that the 1 piece without the centre bearing ? You can still get them off the shelf, but they are not cheap

Yes, I see that now Bob. It's a two piece, and the suspect joint is the front one behind the nose.

Anyone have a spare they could sell? (to fit a 22 spline output shaft)

Are you looking for a TA40 shaft ?? can you post a pic of that ring on the joint

a deeper look shows they do supply the UJ kits with new c-clip stakes

Well, actually it's a TA40GT with what I think is an AE86 T50 box.

But we reckon we can change staked UJs after all.
