Car judders a bit when accelerating  the engine management warning light does NOT come on once had the smell of rotten eggs inside the car mechanics give different opinions as to the problem from spark plugs and or coils a different mechanic said if this was the case the management light would come on he thinks it is a fuel problem.

Any ideas gratefully received.

What sort of revs does this happen at? Mine doesn't much like anything below 2K, except on a very light throttle.

Similar problem to yours normally a problem when revs below 2K but more pronounced when going uphill even if just above 2K

has also happened when car is idling

no engine management light warning so no idea what is happening

am suspecting a fuel delivery issue so tempted to try Redex to clean system if toyota confirm this is a safe product to use.

Have you tried Redex

Rotten egg smell usually indicates that the catalytic converter has failed.

Ours has had a judder from when we bought it (2015 1.33), seems to improve after a tank of V-Power once a year. Thought it may have been the drive by wire throttle otherwise

Being a Mk1 GLS, is it an Auto ? Pull the plugs and check the colour and gaps, breaking up under load is classic worn plugs - oem plugs are copper electrodes that do wear compared to today's iridium's, good news is they are only £2.50-£3 each, only use Denso plugs
