Has anyone tried gutting the cat and just bolting on the mt body on a turbo Glanza? Would it increase power by doing away with the restriction or?? In New Zealand we can get away with no cat at all.

id imagine that it would improve the engines performance by reducing the restriction in airflow....

the less restrictive for a turbo the better.

no such luck over here...

you need to keep the cat on to keep the feds happy.

Further to that, does the cat sensor cause problems when there is no cat or can you just ground it on the body to turn the dash cat light out?

on that note i wouldent have a scooby mate....

would it cause the engine to screw up by not doing this...

or would it just be harmelss enough to leave the cat light on.

Just split the cat in two (4 bolts) and bash out the insides with a hammer. Be careful though as loads of nasty powder comes out :D

Made mine sound alot deeper and pulls abit better. Must give me 3/4bhp more :D

Yep and that nasty powder is also carconogenic <_<

The alternative, esp as you are in NZ is to get a decat pipe from www.mazstyle.co.nz. This performs better than a gutted standard one and you don't get cancer.
