Colours of Corolla Liftback in 1970s?

Hello

I'm not a Toyota owner but am doing some research for an investigative BBC podcast. It involves a sighting of what seems to have been a Corolla liftback in 1981 that we think was registered for 1976 or 1977. It seems that the vehicle was bronze/gold/brown. I'm not sure if the Corolla was made in those colours for those years. Can anyone help? Thanks

information pre 78 is very thin on the ground, anything pre 85 is a mare to find parts for

Ah, many thanks, that is useful. The 1975 UK catalogue shows a bronze one but it's not a liftback. I presume that Toyota would be using the same palette of colours for all the models in one year?

Not sure if the corolla come in a liftback for those years

It may have been a Celica

Yes the liftback was in production for those years - can find yellow/gold/bronze ones on US sites for those years (but not in the UK). 

Don't have the registration unfortunately or it would be a lot easier! Just trying to establish whether what the witness claims to have seen is possible

So It's likely to be an P, R or S reg, it would have not been a very common car for that time

76-78 that would be an E50/52

We think it was P or R (75/76).
