You can add some thin oil or wd-40 to the hinges and see if it helps. This is basic maintenance and any driver can do. Add oil also to all doors, bonnet hinges and the emergency lock on the drivers door., insert your key in and turn few times. Extra care by the driver goes as extra mile to the car 👌

Don't think it's hinges but the motor strut itself, I've never had a powered tailgate before and just wondered if it was a serviceable item.
