Wondering if anyone could help me...

I've just had the engine management light come on my 1.3 IQ. Plugged in the OBD2 reader and it's reading the following error;

P2196 - O2 Sensor Signal - Biased/Stuck Rich Bank 1 - Sensor 1

Has anyone else had the same error? anyone know what needs replacing? Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

B1S1 is always pre cat, Toyota call it a A/F sensor, stuck high or low is usually a failed/failing sensor

89467-74030 around £220-230 retail

looking at the aftermarket pre and post-sensors are the same part (89467-74020) 1.0 and 1.33 - NTK/NGK 91025

Thanks a lot @flash22

Do you know if the NGK 91025 as good at the official Toyota part? As Toyota are quoting £250 and I can get the NGK for £88.

Thanks again

you could do a lot worse, but Bosch, Denso, and NTK are decent brands they are also OEM for a lot of marques

@flash22 I purchased the NTK/NGK 91025 but this looks like its the sensor for after the cat. When I look for the pre cat sensor I can see the Denso DOX0508 which looks exactly like the one I need except it says it's just for the 1.0 and not the 1.33. Would this be the case? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

@mk1, and now does it work ?

Hi Zozo83

I have purchased the sensor but never fitted it as I cleared the error and it never came back on. So I have it ready for when/if the error returns.
