well, the same as with any N/A engine really

Exhaust

Induction kit

ECU

those are resonably priced mods, will definatly improve the car, even if it doesnt increase the bhp significantly..

beyond that, your looking at cams, stroker kits, forged pistons etc..

thats when things get expensive..

best bet, work out how much you got to spend.. and we'll tell you where to spend it ;)

as per, get it breathing better with either a cone filter or a better panel filter. Then get a decent less restrictive exhaust on it and a decat. Thats the easy stuff. Then it gets expensive!

all cash dependant.

decat + exhaust

induction kit WITH COLD FEED

ditch all the weight you can, spare tyre, heat shields etc (replace metal shields with thermotec or alike)

Wrap the manifold

camshafts + associated head work

port and polish head, have it skimmed to increase compression ratio

forged high compression pistons TODA do 13:1and ARP bolts etc so it can rev higher

Dastek unichip to get it all running nice

short shift kit

TRD LSD

Uprated clutch & flywheel

You could spend tons of money and still not get much of an increase on a N/A. I was gonna tune mine up but I'll probably just leave it as it is with panel filter and exhaust, then move onto a turbo next year.

Rico has a mate who has a 200bhp n/a.

But tbh don't expect to get too much from a n/a. You'll get a lot more for your money if you were to tune a turbo.

18 ?... yeah... n/a mate.... If an insurance company would ever insure an 18 yr old on a tubby I'd hate to see the price !

200bhp isnt *that* hard .. good filter and exhaust, mad cams and a well tuned chip and you are there ..

The problem is no torque ..

it's when forced induction will always win ..

The car in question is my mates car.

its a rev 3 with the more powerful engine.

He has a dastek chip, custom built exhaust and de-cat pipe

and an after market air filter.

Mine still beats it off the mark though :D
