Space saver wheel size

Hi all .will a space save 18 inch wheel fit in the well of a toyota yaris cross gr 2022 model

I suspect it will be too big, the space saver Toyota supply is 16"

I don't know if they're advertised correctly or not, but I see several space savers supposedly for YC on sale with a tyre size of 125/70 R17. That's still going to be a smaller diameter wheel than anything with an 18" rim, I feel - the tyre would have to be too skinny.

A space saver can be no smaller than 10% of the running tyre.  An 18" wheel can have an 18" space saver or a 17" space saver.

10% of 18 being 1.8. 18- 1.8 = 16.2 so a 16" space saver is too small. 

Ditto for 17" - a 16" space saver is fine.

Should that not be the overall diameter? Otherwise you could have the same rim size but the aspect ratio could make the outside diameters very different. 

(I have a feeling my MK3's space saver is on a smaller rim with a much taller tyre, but I'd need to burrow into the depths of the boot to confirm that.)

Sorry, should probably not have used the expression "space saver".  

Assume that a spare should not be more than 10% overall diameter difference than the wheel/tyre it is temporarily replacing.
