My wife has just purchased a Yaris Excel 2024 and does not like the feel of the steering wheel now she has driven it more, after driving my CH-R.

There are several on the internet at various prices, but I can't find anywhere what the dimensions are of her new cars steering wheel is, and I don't want get the wrong size.

Any input would be appreciated

Interested in this as after a few weeks of driving my new YCP I think the feel of the steering wheel material is really poor and dare I say irritatingly so.

Do you have a tape measure?

Is the correct question. Measure the outside diameter, e.g. 38cm., and purchase accordingly.

A subset question and just as important is does anyone have one fitted and is it any good… fit, finish, feel etc. if so link would be good.

my current one seems to feel like it’s covered in a thin neoprene layer and frankly is not nice, not great for a near £33k vehicle. Even 1970’s ‘vegan leather’ wheel felt better in the hands.

Thank you for all your answers folks!

I have just come back from Halfords and I tried the leather covered one but couldn't fit it, so took it back to the counter and they refunded me.

37-39 cm's  was the size I tried because that's all they had,

So off to find some string to help me measure it 🙂

I’ve just done a quick google search and there are a few companies that do customised covers maybe worth a look.

There are also companies who will retrim the wheel in whatever you want too but it's a lot more faff as the wheel needs to be removed which'd take the car out of commission.

I have used these a few times if you want to go for something bespoke.

I was recommended this place by someone in the trade who has used them many times for custom / modified cars.

I've used them recently for retrimming a C-HR heated steering wheel & they did an excellent job at a decent price.

Got a Royal steering wheel on my MX5, with a flattened bottom to the wheel and wider hand grips for more comfortable hand hold. They only do "exchange" wheels, I believe - but will mail one and let you return yours when it's fitted or you can go to them and they will swap it while you wait.
