New Toyota Owner Avensis T25

I'm pretty familiar with VW group cars though The Petrol cars started going off the rails around 2004.  I needed a backup Car Quick. the only decent thing i could find relatively quick and locally was an 2007 Avensis with 1.8vvt-i engine which i just ticking upto 60,000 miles.

So I'm a member of the Toyota club now. Gotta say I was shocked I could get near 50MPG in a petrol of this size. I have already swapped out the W58830 Radio, with a pioneer DEH-S720DAB with Wind screen aerial ( I really wanted the roof top aerial but i'm not willing to make a hole in the roof unnecessarily ) The Guide on here was bang on. I'm A keen DIYer and have had no issues changing Timing belts, Clutches and Gearboxes, and diagnosing most issues on my VW's. I already have most of the kit already for a service on the new avensis. I was also shocked talking to a Toyota mechanic, on the engines of this era provided the engine oil is kept clean and fresh, the chain an all the guides and tensioners are over engineered and should out last the engine and hopefully never need changing which is music to my ears,  I'm used to VW timing chains having all manor of issues and failures.

welcome, enjoy your "new to you" Avensis . The only thing to check mechanically is probably the rear suspension as that is known to rust.
