asked this one before but got no response (boo hoo!!)what sort of engine oil do the members use,and which is the besr all rounder.do you think the price of Mobil 1 fully syn is justified?what should i use in a carina e?

Same here - Castrol Magnatec although I use the 10w-30 varient which is the same rating as the oil which Toyota use for the MR2 during services...

delco semi synthetic 10w-40 if its good enuf for a 24v vauxhall carlton (drive one and try not to grin like a fool as the thing goes completely sideways) its good enuf for me and it aint that pricey if you know where to get it

bearing in mind my twincams coming up for 163000 miles

Pennzoil from America, NASCAR Race formula 10-30/5-30 is better than magnatec, (which is mostly gimmick) and is 2 thirds of the price - the only place i can get it down south is - ASDA WALMART!!! don't know if it's my engine but this oil stayed clear for 7 months, then i changed it!
