Derestricting A Jap Import

Hi Guys

A mate has just bought a 1994 TT Supra imported from Japan, it's restricted to the usual "gentleman's agreement" mph of 112, we have been told the derestricting is simply a case of wiring the speedo from the gearbox to the mph settings and hey presto, it's sorted!

Is that the case and can anyone give me an 'idiots' guide on how we go about it please?

Not quite as simple as that you need to use a converter which costs about £100, and not too hard to fit.

Check out http://www.thor-racing.co.uk/ for a converter that has been used successfully on many MKIV Supra's. The DSC + TSD will do the conversion for you and remove the top speed limiter.
