My first A2 suffered squeeks and rattles inside the cabin, the rear brake drums were rusting already (not nice to look at through the alloys and on a new motor too-wonder how long it had been sitting in a field...). The dealer left the front suspension packing in and I drove for over 1000 miles with it in-the drive was as hard and walking in stone shoes so I don't know what premature damage had been done for me to find in future. Radio reception wasn't working, and then the dealer scratched the dash sorting it out, meaning a new CC unit had to be fitted. Along with a few other faults I got a replacement A2.

The replacement had a new wheel bearing in the first 500 miles, more rattles.......the list went on.

The dealer shoved two fingers up and said no compensation what so ever. So I sold and will never go back to that dealer again. And even Audi for that matter. I think they are suffering what MB did a few years back when quality went out of the window in the name of cost cutting-and it shows.

Sounds like you've maybe been pretty unlucky. My friends A2 has just turned 10k miles (as has my Corolla T3) and the A2 cabin has less rattles and squeaks than mine does.

We (my familly, I was too younf to drive at the time) haven't owned an Audi since our 100 2.8 estate, but what parents loved about it then was the quality of the build and the nice firm "clunk" sound when closing doors.

IMHO the corolla has the nice clunk sound but the build quality isn;t up to audi standards. Audi really do make the best interiors in my opinion... when I graduate, subject to getting a decent job, I will keep my eyes open new A8!

I hope I was unluky as I like the look of the new A3.

I would say the Corolla interior isn't far off that of my A2. Audi do have the knack of making the interior look classy, even if it doesn't match the perceived quality.

But the body of the Corolla is a lot stronger and better sounding than the aluminium of the A2-that sounded very "tinny".

The new A8 has a 4l TDi in it-wow!.

Citreon ZX Turbo Diesel Volcane

I still have the car (in process of selling it)

but as it was a slightly older Citroen it was a lot better built

it very rarely went wrong and it would keep

Escort GTI's and Peugeots at bay although not quite as quick

handled like a go kart

now i have a Yaris TS (black) planning a few power increasing

mods a better car and very good fuel economy for petrol

very impressed :D
