Avatar Problems

ive tried to upload an avatar to my profile but get the message "that type of file cant be used" even though its an .jpg file

any ideas

I'm having the same problem. cant seem to upload any of my pictures to use, even if they are any of the file extensions mentioned in the help files.

you also need to check the dimensions and file sizes guys

max size is 150 x 150

Looks as if your image is not the right dimensions as it is being streched....

On your PC, right click the image and go to properties so you get the correct dimensions of the one you've uploaded then change the avatar settings :)

re did it but still looks a bit blocky the original is sweet though any tips for getting the best type pic for an avatar.

Quite simple....

Loaded the image in Paint Shop Pro or similar program and resized it to a width of 150 pixels, made a note of the height, for example my new avatar is 150x121 and then after uploading it to my webspace gave the info on the avatar page, works great every time...

Most important thing is to get the correct dimensions of the photo as if they are even a little bit out they will distort the photo.....
