Modified Taxis

I dont know about where you live but around the west mids there has been a steady increase in the number of modified taxis which seems a bit odd!

I got in one on sat night which was a vectra, it was lowered on 17's, had lexus lights and a noisey exhaust!

i've also seen a Mondeo preperly decked with twin exhausts and tints!

Theres a even a black cab i've seen that has twin boxter ovals and a DVD in the dash!

When i get into a taxi i dont want to be thrown around by coilovers and have my aching head damaged by a popping gropup N exhaust!

Is it allowed where you live?

The 7 seaters round here have DVD screens in the head rests..

A few years ago there was a Cav GSi with big rims going round Derby.

I wouldnt have thought that would be allowed due to the stringent plating test mot thingy.

DVD's in headrests in mpv's is pretty standard now I wouldn't call them a modification exactly but lowered taxi's with loud modified exhausts wouldn't get much business around Cardiff.

I used to see a modded EVOVI taxi in Leamington Spa. Now that's one taxi I wouldn't mind using at all :)

Quite a few in Worcester have alloys and Lexus lights.

Theres only one that I'd pay to go home in though, a silver IS200

There's a Skyline GT-R that has a taxi company advertisement stuck to his door, but it's not a taxi (I don't think  )

I think there used to be an Escort Cosworth somewhere about here but dont think it would have been a taxi long. How much would that cost to run? And would the costs be transferred to the passengers! lol

One local taxi (a vectra) has subs in it. Fine on the way out to a club, but rubbish on the way home!!

There was a program on bravo last night called boozing britian and there was a taxi on it that operates in the isle of man that had turned the back of the car into what the driver calls a disco  it had flashing lights and a sub and really powerful Speakers in the back and he had installed c.c.t.v with a screen in the front so he could keep an eye on who's in the back.

A few year ago a mate of mine put a Cavalier 4x4 in Taxi and before that had a Sapphire RS Cosworth in Taxi also.....

Slightly off subject - theirs an Instructors car knocking around that's a Civic VTi (3dr P reg i think) with Lexus rear lights - lowered - Twin Exit exhausts and lowereed..:lol:

I'd give ANY taxi in Cardiff my business if I could find one on a saturday night!
