Tire Pressure Monitor

I bought a 2005 Tundra Truck it comes with the Tire pressure monitor.

If anyone out there can explain or have knowledge on how this system works.

I like to do my own regular maintenance like rotate tires, change oild, etc..

Don't know if I could do any potential damage with Pressure monitor system.

Thanks

I believe a low tire is recognized by speed sensors. A low tire has a smaller radius (distance from the axle center to the ground) and so will be turning faster than a more-inflated tire. The computer notices the subtle difference in speed pulse values and turns on a warning light.

Stability and Traction Control systems rely heavily on speed sensors.
