My Bro' told me how he has flown a hawk jet, a glider, rumbled in a tank and (proper) off-road vehicles, quad bikes and some sort of weird car thingy with no steering wheel.

Anyone driven or flown something a little different.

Rib with twin 70hp johnson outboards.

ProKarts (80mph)

Quadbikes

Mountain board propelled by strap-on firework rockets

Boogie Board greased up and towed round a wet field at 45mph.

...... could a middle of the night bridge-swinging mission in north wales be classed as driving my self quite hard off a 40 meter bridge?

Nope. I used to be in air cadets where we used to do flying mostly in gliders or bulldogs chipmonks etc but when we went away on camps to like raf lossiemouth in scotland few people to get chance to fly tornados etc.

As for helicopters we went on a camp to RNWS inskip near preston where we got a chance in flying them. Also did 0G drops which is very cool. More fun when your on the harness inside and they go straight up then into a nose dive and you can do barrol roles inside helicopterand float around.

And flew down some major road just above lorries going under power cables people in the cars looked like they were ****ting them selves. also landed on the beach at black pool after flying around tower in the raf seaking.

As for tanks we were nxt to a TA centre where they had to be trained on them and we got a chance to drive them.

you actually flown........

thats the meaning of the post question...

i doubt you flew a tornado, nimrod, hercules and holding the stick for 30 seconds dont count

as for the gr1,harrier, Jaguar, and hawk trainer, there all 2 seaters you must have sat in the navigator, seat.or did you take of and land it <_<

Nimrod is an early warning platform, id imagine you sat in the co-pilots seat...for a quick fiddle

just trying to clear the facts

tank training is done at Bovington......

helicopters are too risky to allow a jolly in, my experiance was for 5 mins over bosnia, in level flight which was the most they would allow
