My Experience With Blueprint Parts

First off I got a 1 in a million faulty dizzy cap. Car off road for 2 days. Then I get another un and this time the clearance between rotor and contacts is rubbish...the actual rotor skelps the four contacts causing misfire and lumpy idle. I managed to keep the car idling high to avoid stalling until the rotor scuffed off the contacts till there was clearance to allow spark jump. Its worked for now. Now I will have to take the rotor off again soon to vacuum out the metal shears.

What utter cr*p parts and low quality workmanship. Blueprint state thier parts are identical to manufacturers. Well this goes to show they are cack for mr2 dizzys. Thier stuff is no way spot on...it IS inferior. Im gonna get mrT dizzy n rotor on monday as I dont trust this set. What a joke.

This is just my experience others I know with different cars have been fine with em. But I suppose when it comes to higher performance cars thier stuff just doesnt cut it.

Hi,

Glad you posted this as I am looking to get a new dizzy cap and rota arm, do you have the part numbers at all for the cheaper MR'T ones you mentioned in a prev post?

Cheers Dave

Sometimes you get blueprint without realising.

I ordered what i thought was an OEM part and it ended up being blueprint :(

(This was from Fensport btw)

I got a ADL/ Blueprint dizzy cap for mine before, and prior to fitting it on, I found there was a micro fracture on the inside of the cap. The car runs fine as it is, and the cap doesn't like split open when running, just that the micro fracture is there. You wouldn't know it if you just glanced at it tho.

a micro fracture can lead to possible big pain in the bottom when its damp and wet , i'd of asked for a replacement, having bought parts for a celica from blueprint , i can't fault them .

yes be vary wary of ordering any supposed OEM parts from fensport, they start clearly they are genuine toyota but when i received a clutch kit for my old mk1 from them it was blue print, quite annoed me as once p&p and vat was added it as within £10 of the price my local dealer wanted :( and £15 more expensive then my local factor wanted for a blueprint one.
