Landcruiser Centre Diff Lock

My missus managed to kick the small gearbox lever into HL which I have now found out locks the centre diff but the gearbox remains in High ratio. She didn't know that she had done it (don't ask) so carried on driving around, although she did notice the car was a bit weird.

Is it possible she may have damaged anything as the suspension is much less forgiving, stiffer and noticeably a rougher ride.

Any advice would be appreciated before I divorce my wife for careless abuse of my beloved cruiser.

Hi i often drive on the roads in hl with the centre diff locked ,especially when towing believe me i do a lot and im not slow and ive had my colorado for years and it hasnt coursed me any problems as long as the orange light on the dash board has gone out. i should think your land cruiser should be ok.

No, no damage caused,

The center diff is compensated by the front and rear diff.

Now if she had locked the rear diff. then that would be a different case.;
