thinkin about gettin a decat pipe for my t-sport. few things i'd liek to know...

1. are they expensive - any ideas on prices?

2. easy or hard to fit - can it be swapped back for MOT purposes

3. will it give much improvment in performance

4. will it make my car sound any louder or better

5. will it bring on engine managment lite if i fit one?

Cheers Guys n Gals!

Should set you back about £70 to £80, make sure you get a bolt in, bolt out one for the MOT

Will make car a bit louder, mostly a rawrer sound

and yes i would imagine it will bring engine management light on

1. 300 quid +

2. Dont know

3. not been confirmed, 10bhp at the most i would imagine

4. louder yes, better... hmm its a loud screamy roar rather than a low deep roar

5.yes

Also should mention its illegal, if the coppers pull you (which they might as its very loud) youll be done for

moffmos pretty much got it

for number 2 you could have it as a removable section

youll be best with a straight through stainless item instead of messing with a removable one

and itll be MEGA loud

power. mine was 108 as std and went 121 with a total straight through system (very loud) and an air filter

also will it be okay with my fuji back box?

cheers

custom job by a local powerflo place or equiv

yes youll have to replace it for MOT

yes its illegal to remove it

itll probably take a good 3-4 hours to swap them round

and yes have it custom made to fit the fuji

This may be a stupid Question,

but why would it bring the management light on? The cat is past any sensors, the only sensor would be the lambar, and that is before the cat!

Apparantly there is one ON the cat, nizans had this done and he needed a sensor on the decat section, but decided not to bother

There's one in Queensferry, shouldn't be too far from where you live.

I would highly recommend them.

aye..it's illegal both for removing it...and for the noise pollution...not to mention exhaust polution....and thus you'll be driving without insurance.

just goes to show what a waste of time the current MOT is... the number of things peeps change for that one day of the year..thne put back in their illegal lights...remove the cat etc.

There are 2 sensors on the exhaust system!!!

Theres one 2 inches from the front of the cat & one 2 inches behind it, so the answer to the SENSOR question is YES.

Sensor plugholes can be made by the custom exhaust manufacturor so the engine management light shouldnt come on if the job is done properly

ahhh, now insurance is a problem. cos if i had a crash, would they pull me up on not havin a cat connected. i bet theyw ould, and cant exactly go telling them ive taken it out. also, i'd have to get the sensors fitted in some how, dont want that light on perminently. probably talking mega $$'s!

The second sensor is to make sure the cat is working fully no matter what you do you will get the mangment light on if you remove the cat, there is no way to by pass the system. Why don't you get a cat back system?

...an exhaust sytem that goes from the end of the cat only, instead of a full system to the manifold
