Is It The Gear Box?

i have a ae92 corolla gti which has done 170 thousand miles. now on tick over it is making a clicking noise which sounds like its coming from the gear box, when i put my foot on the clutch it gets worse any ideas on what it is? please help :ffs:

if the noise is coming from the gear box then its most likely to be the thrustbearing but please be sure be for you go ripping the engine apart. i asume the car is in neutral when the noise is happening and the noise gets worse when you press the clutch if this is the case the it is the thrustbearing.

thanks for that mate alot of people have said the same so im gona put a new racing clutch and bearing in. thanks for the info much appreciated.

no probs mate but if you gearbox is anything like mine in my carina 11. its gonna cost you big time.

i found a full clutch kit for a tiny 55 quid and 80 fitting cause im too lasy
