Sinking Feeling

I have recently bought an 02 Corolla T3 1.4, which although registered 12 months previously - had not been sold and had 0 on the odometer.

In my first few weeks driving it, I have noticed something odd about the braking. Whenever I stop at lights/junctions etc with my foot resting on the brake, a moment after stopping I can feel my foot dip down as the brake pedal "sinks" a little. I have never known this with other cars and wondered if it is a feature of the Corolla, or a fault?

Can anyone enlighten me?

I beleive in the manual it mentions something about this. Something to do with the ABS but not too sure what. Have a read.

My corolla does this also.
