hi guys,

every time i press the clutch down on my tubby (which is currently in the for sale section ;) ) it makes a squeaky noise... wasn't too bothered first but now i took it into town and its pretty annoying - i think people outside the car can hear it also!!

Any ideas..? any1 else had the same problem... what needs doing (WD40'ing..???)

Rash.

Mine does that too, I've tried everything to fix the problem but nothing works. I've had the same thing on other cars, I'm not sure that much can be done about it, just turn the stereo up!!!

AAaahhh the Old Clutch Squeek topic rears it's head again :lol:

Sorry, Shaf, just greasing the clutch pedal alone does not cure it on every MR2. My Rev3 had a squeeky clutch and the pedal was the first thing I treated, but it didn't cure it. My girlfriend Rev2 had a squeeky clutch and putting some WD40 on the pedal and mechanisms didn't cure it.

I read a fix for it a while back, but can't remember where it was or how to do it now... :(

I'll have a search through my old MKII folders and see if I stored any links in them...

My MKI also has a squeeky clutch from time to time. I just live with it.

It's the release arm inside the gearbox thats doing it, not sure if you can grease it up with the box still on the car. maybe there is an inspection plate where you can get to it.

it cant be greased properly, but spraying into the housing with spray grease and a straw attatched can sometimes cure it. no luck for me though.
