Heater Lights

Wonder if anyone can help ....

I have a 2000 model Corolla (with the LCD screen for the radio info etc). The right hand side heater bulb (the one behind the blower fan) has fused.

Could someone please tell me how to remove the various bits and pieces in order to change this bulb.

I only bought this car last week - everytime I get in it, I cant believe how good it is. I'd recommend one to anyone looking for a quality small family car. Its a big improvement on the 97-99 model (my previous car) even though they might appear to look very similar.

Anyway, that bulb is my only niggle .....

I asked my local Toyota dealer for help ... they wanted £45+vat to change a bulb. They did advise me on how it should be done though ...

Remove the heater switches and ashtray and cig lighter. Remove the 3 phillips screws from behind the 3 rotary heater controls. Then pull the 'silver' (on my GLS model) facia out an you will be able to see the bulb.

Tried this but the facia does not pull out - its firmly in place.

Anyone got any ideas ? Toyota want me to book it in, but i'm loathed to spend so much money changing a £1 bulb.
