I think that's a very smart example of the Yaris...

Some alloys to finish it off and you'll be away :)

I'd love tog et a closer look, when are you coming to one of the meets ?

Nice looking but you have to put some pieces of tnt to open doors?

Where are the handles? :)

I love the kit. I think the 16/17's will set it all off.

I agree that the jury's still out on the Carzone kit as it's the same as their 206, escort, etc, etc.

BUT, it does look wicked on this Yaris - red is the best colour for the little car anyway.

well done

first time i have seen this kit on a real car, the small pics in the magazines dont do it any justice.

looks realy good in red. If you don't mind me asking :P how much did the fitting cost?

Also do you have problems with speed bumps catching the skirts?

Surinder...

I've just gone back to have another look I never noticed no door handle. Seany put us out of our misery how do you open the doors?

Haven't any of you ever seen a car without door handles? Blimey!!! :D :P

You operate the doors from Solenoids usually located under the wing mirrors, they pop the door open just enough for you to open it, I think some better set-ups also have remotely operated ones.

Either that or you use a bit of >>> :hokus-pokus:

Hello,

Well thanx for the comments, very positive! :D

Firstly, the doors they are solenoid operated, remote on my alarm. The back doors pop from inside.

16"s will be going on the car, i've had a lot of trouble with alloys, because i really wanted 17"s on but they just won't fit because the kit curves in at the bottom.

It does catch on speed bumps and potholes but with 16"s hopefully it'll be a lot less.

The kit cost £700, wouldn't like to say how much i got charged for fitting it, just say don't go to Davlyn's Bodyshop in Leicester! :arrgg-matey: Thieves!

The graphics i did myself, took 4 1/2 hrs to do, with help from Dad and friend. Its a replica of the graphics on the APR Celica, was featured in Max Power Cover a few issues ago.

Am planning to get a Celica replica bonnet vent as well, then have the same black stripe painted down it.

Finally...when will you see me? Not sure to be honest, am going to HK this summer so will miss out on JAE :( I might be on display at Max Power, have to see on that.

Thanx again everyone for the kind comments, much appreciated.

Sean

Well I have to applaud you for being brave enough to fork out the money for that kit, as when I first saw it I thought that it would only be suitable for show cars.

I was considering getting it a couple of years ago, but thought that I would forever be crying about the scraping!

Will look nice though once the finishing touches are added - just don't go TOO far and spoil it, as it's easily done and you could get people staring at your car for the wrong reasons.

More Yaris tuning needed and photos posted I think - keep 'em coming!

Ok, well i took it down to a friend's garage first, someone i trust but they couldn't see a way of fitting it securely. I rang Carzone, they recommended Davlyn's so i went to them, asking them if they would fit the kit secure. They said so, but wouldn't let tell me how they did it until it was done. They did it exactly the same way as my garage was going to do it.

The paint wasn't the same shade of red, and they charged me over £700 to do it.

Trust me, they do wicked paint jobs, but this wasn't one of them...

Do you think i've overdone it with the graphics? I'm looking for my car to be a proper show car though, this is a pic of the Celica i'm on about.

Oh dear, didn't they recomend getting the whole car sprayed when you first contacted them so to have the car and kit matching perfectly. Also a missed opotunity for a full colour change to a one off paint.

Any chance of some daylight pics of the graphics.I can see by the pics of the celica what you are trying to do but it is a lot bigger car so there is a chance of it not looking right on a smaller car like yours.

Headlights/grille and bonnet do need doing though have you thought about contacting coollouvres and let them make a one off bonnet for you also they can do wonders with your front wings and would fit new headlights for you.

Oh and i hope you have a friendly bank manager because if it is truely a show car you are after you'll need one, good luck

My husband colour matched my (now for sale) AX GT body kit perfectly (metalic grey) to the rest of the car so I don't see why they didn't match it! I would complain.

Is your car 1L?

Seany,

If fitting that body kit and doing the paint job cost you 700 notes then you got a pretty good deal. After all, how long did they have the car? thats go to be at least a three day job. When car electronics did the security on my car the labour charges alone were near on £500 and that was for two days work.

Did they actually have the celica to look at or just a photo. I would be suprised if any garage would sign up to doing an acurate colour match from a photo.

Cheers.

Steve.
