IMO a charge cooler is more efficient BUt is a fair bit of work to set up properly......and also depends on what you use your car for and what HP your looking for.

Get down to W.H Smith and rip the wrapper off a copy of Maxflower  , dont let anyone see you do it...least of all the staff, you dont want to end up having to buy a copy !! theres a little bit in there about having a chargecooler fitted to a tubby.....or is that where your interest has come from ?

Charge coolers are really aimed at hight HP's

I would say go for an upratted side mount.

Then after that a boot mount (Biger HP) or a charge cooler

If you aint going rediculose then a side mount will do the job, get a Co2 or icer kit, apparantly they are really good on the 2, because its a side and not a front mount ?

the trouble with chargecoolers is they seem to be limited to about 400bhp, if you want more power you gotta go boot mount. plus with many aftermarket turbos the chargecoolers simply won't fit. the st205 doesn't fit on my car due to the turbo

Just out of interest, roughly how large are chargecooler units? I've got hold of a 4agze for my mk1 and was looking at using a chargecooler instead of the air-air unit. If the dimensions are right I should be able to retain the standard engine lid :D
