Disabling Seatbelt Alarm

Yes, I suspected that would be the only way to do it Alan. A bit to complex for most I maybe. I was thinking..what about covering the beeper with some tape or something to make it less noisy? If I can find it.. Or better, if the weight/pressure sensor in the seat can just be unplugged? Must be a wire somewhere from underneath the front seat.

You could make a fake buckle from thin plastic and plug it in. Obviously you wouldn't be able to plug in the real buckle without unplugging it first tho, and the car would think you have the belt on so airbags might behave differently.

I have an Estima from 2006. It has push button start and the seatbelt warning lamp doesn't light (not the bulb). How do I reinstate this feature?

Hi David, welcome to TOC 🙂

Under what circumstances or why do you want it disabled?

If you are putting enough weight on empty seats to trigger the alarm then you can simply plug the real belt buckle in or buy some standalone ones (about £3 for 2 on ebay).

You may be able to customise/turn it off using Techstream.

The inverse issue. My t27 2010 avensis don't beep anymore when driver seatabelt isn't on. What can be the issue? Thanks?

Hey guys,
I resolved your problem by resolving mine.
At the end of the buckle you have the black switch from where the cable goes under the seat. Unplug the cable and you won't have either chime or warning light on the dash.
But guys, always wear the seat belt!!!!
