Help Needed With Stereo Pinouts Of 2000 Corolla

Hi All,

I have a year 2000 corolla with a fitted stereo which has the controls located at the top of the dash and a cassette deck located in the center colum. I'm trying to install a new pioneer stereo and was able to get a din mounting pod from a 98 corolla and a harness adapter from Halfords. However the harness going into the control unit does not match the harness adapter. I've looked around and can only find the same type of adapter as Halfords sold me.

Does anyone know what the pinouts for the audio harness are so I can wire it up manually, or better where I could get the correct harness adapter.

Thanks.

Hi mate, I have a similar spec Corolla with an after market stereo fitted. Basically your trying to replace the wrong bit! The multi fuction display is just the display and buttons for your cassette unit located below. Your cassette unit is your radio unit and is what you need to replace with your new unit. You should find your adapter will plug in here. The multi function display will still work but only as Trip, Clock, and Temp. :bye:

Be careful with the fitment of the head unit as some can be quite tight!
