Hi recently bought an alpine CD Changer on the net have tried using the adaptor toyalp1 but still did not work.Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you rectify the situation.( By the way its a 2000 corolla 1.4VVT-1 with the 18404 tape cassette model.)

What cables did you get with the CD changer?

I am not familiar with the adaptor, but I assume it's the adaptor to convert from the Toyota head unit to the CD changer's lead connector.

Does the cable connect to the adaptor?

Have you connected the romote cable (often found loomed with the RCA/phono cable) between the head unit and cd changer?
